HR Analytics for Decision Making in Apparel Industry

Apparel sector is contributing to the Gross Domestic Production in the country and further it is
resulting 40 % of the exports in the country (Jayawardena, 2020). There are more than 300 factories in Sri Lanka and contributing to 15 % of the employment opportunities. Thus, apparel sector is highly labor intensive. With regards to this, application of HR analytics in decision making is very important (Fernando, et al., 2020).

HR (Human resource) can be recorded as the most important resource in the organizations specially in

the manufacturing organizations (Gardas, et al., 2018). This is the collection of the people to create the workforce of an organization. HR analytics can be referred to as a tool which is using the database of human capital to make the different decisions (Mohammed & Quddus, 2019). It is a must to use this in managing the HR and making decisions in apparel industry due to many reasons.

          HR analytics is consisting with several applications and helped in several areas

           

It is very important to have the better HR in apparel sector as the outcomes in the products and the product quality is depending on the quality of human resource. Thus, HR analytic is important in decision making applications (Kremer, 2018).

Different advantages are there in the HR analytics which can be important in the apparel sector. Some of them are as follows.

  • Improving the hiring applications which resulting better hiring
  • Attrition can be reduced
  • Experience in the HR can be increased and improved
  • Workforce can be ended up with the productive applications
  • Improving the pieces in the organizations
  • Trust can be gained in human resource 

 There are three types of analytics which can be used in the decision making in Apparel sector. 


These three types of the analytics are important in the decision making and it needed to be made sure the HR analytics is using these to have proper future plans to get maximum from the human resource which has been used in the operational activities. Along with the applications used here, it is true that the HR analytics in decision making is a must to use in the organizations (Specially in apparel sector) to get more results and the favorable outcomes to meet future needs (Jabir, et al., 2019)

  5. Garments sector is mainly human resources intensive field and manpower is key resource. Hence human resource management is very important factor of the garments manufacturing and it is very important that the human resource management team having analytics and taking decisions based on their analytics rather than taking decisions blindly or just assuming. It is good trend that the HRM is coming up with smart way and it will really help organizations to get good numbers from all aspects of their KPI.

Any organization has more challenge to find out right person for right work. It will impact productivity and efficiency. So.. HRM analytics help to keep data for employee performance and can provide to take proper decision. This is not only important to Appealers industry it is important to any of the industry.

    analytics have become pillars of decision-making (Phillips-Wren et al., 2015).
